About Me

Hello, my name is Brooke Hannah. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. My life journey has been all over the place, as I never knew what I wanted to do with it. I was exposed to all sorts of hobbies as a child, from theater and acting to horsebackriding, soccer, volleyball and tennis, while volunteering at the nature center on the weekends. One thing I did know, is that I was creative and curious.

At thirteen years old, I had taught myself programs such as Photoshop and Fireworks, and some HTML, CSS, PHP, and Javascript. My parents suggested I look into graphic design for a career as I got older, but I had no interest. My senior year of high school, I got stuck in a beginners art class to fulfill my credits needed to graduate. In this class I drew the Marilyn Monroe picture (under the art tab of this website), but still had no interest in pursuing art as a career, I wanted something more fulfilling.

When it came time to apply for college, I declared my major as 'criminal justice', I wanted to become a detective. I attended school at San Francisco State University for two years. The lecture classes were long, although the content was interesting, my mind wanders and I would end up doodling all over my notes. One day I was pleased with my doodle of the day, and posted it on my Instagram account. Friends loved it and I actually ended up getting tattoo requests. For the first time in years, I sat down and drew up a request and surprised myself, it was actually really good. This made me begin to question my life choices, and if I was really on the right path. I dropped out of college and moved back home.

By this point I was extremely lost in life. I had no idea what I wanted to do, how can I incorporate art into it? That's when it dawned on me, that I had known and ignored my path all along. I got accepted into Brooks Institute in Ventura for graphic design. The school was having financial issues, so out of fear of it closing before my courses were completed, I dropped out again after only attending for a month. A couple months after, I was accepted into the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Downtown Los Angeles, where I completed my chapter in life as a student. In March of 2016, I completed my Associates Degree in Graphic Design, and in September 2017, I completed my Bachelor's Degree in Business Management.

A new chapter in my life has begun, as I finally get to pursue a path that feels right. I am comfortable in my own skin, very open minded, and have an appreciation for life and learning. I am so proud of myself for continue to stay determined and work hard to achieve the best life I possibly can, and am excited to see where life takes me next.
